UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT DEPOSIT
Each year, the Lions spend a lot of money to replace Cheerleader and Football uniforms and equipment.
A $20 deposit is required for uniforms and equipment.
All items must be returned clean and on time in order for your deposit to be refunded.

VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
All families are required to volunteer during the season.
On the day of equipment hand out, you must sign up for volunteer times.
Parents must show for all volunteer duty or you will be responsible to pay for your child’s banquet gift.
In addition to helping our own organization, the WJFL requires us to provide volunteers to help at Field Day, sell line ads in the Field Day program, and sell tickets to the League Dance.

PLAYOFFS AND FIELD DAY

Game times for the playoffs and field day will be determined and posted to Facebook as well as the website.

Coaches will determine their practice schedules and will notify parents and players accordingly.

MODS are done with practices except for one practice on Thursday, November 3rd from 5:30PM to 6:30 PM prior to Field Day. Mods will also participate in Field Day.

Cheerleaders will participate in all of the same events as their football team. Your coaches will let you know if there will be any further practices prior to these games.

These dates/times are for both football players and cheerleaders.

BANQUET

The Lions end of the year banquet will be Thursday, November 17th at 6pm at the Bedford High School Cafeteria.

Tickets for the banquet will be available at Uniform Turn-ins. The Banquet will be catered by Sidelines.

The cost is $7.00 per person. Coaches, football players, and cheerleaders are Free as well as siblings 3 and under.

You will be receiving your $20 deposit back when you return your uniform and

the money can be used to purchase your tickets.

Tickets will NOT be available the day of the Banquet – so please be sure to purchase your tickets at Uniform Turn in.

The Banquet is reserved for players/cheerleaders and their immediate family due to limited space.

FOOTBALL PLAYERS SHOW YOUR PRIDE
Players can wear their Black Jerseys to school and the Bedford Varsity game on Friday. Kids are responsible for taking care of their jerseys. Any destruction and parents will have to pay to replace them. Wear them with honor, respect and pride!

Each week, the Lions Organization is responsible for paying for Hotdogs and Drinks for Each Player, Cheerleader and Coach. This is a large cost weekly. Please be sure to get this item as it is paid for or let us know so that we do not include you in the total headcount.

WJFL TICKETS
At Weigh-in’s, football players were issued yellow tickets to sell. Please sell the tickets and keep the money. You paid for these tickets already when you paid to play. Turn in the stubs to your coach or Coach KK. If you do not sell them, write your own name on them and still turn them in, you may win! Please turn in your stubs by Thursday – October 6th.

FIELD ISSUES
I know we have had some gate issues lately and we are working on it. Please try to enter through Door Street and Exit to Monroe Road. Speed is crucial, excessive speed will force to keep the gates locked permanently and then everyone will need to Park in Parmalee’s lot. Also, we have noticed a lot of trash left each day at practice.
Please clean up after yourselves. Thanks.

Need time away from the daily chaos of life?  Need a Night out on the Town?  Every year the WJFL has a league dance for all Parents to enjoy.  The Lions will have tables available.  This is a chance to cut a rug and have a good time.  Tickets are on sale NOW.  Please see Amber Brushaber or Candi Grzegorczyk for more details. The Dance is Saturday, October 22nd at St. Clements Hall on Tremainsville in Toledo.  This year the theme is HALLOWEEN!!!  Tickets are $20.00 per couple.  Money is due NOW.  Tickets will go fast, so please get them ASAP.

LIONS CAR WASH FUNDRAISER
This Saturday, September 17th from 9am – 1pm at Stevenson Building and Supply at the corner of Secor and Dean. Both Football players and Cheerleaders are expected to participate. Mods will be at 9:00 – 10:30am, Juniors at 10:15 – 11:45, and Seniors at 11:30 – 1:00pm. If you can’t make your designated time you are welcome to come at a different time. Kids are to wear everyday clothes (not uniforms) and bring a bucket and sponge. We will provide the towels and soap.
Volunteers for this event are: Lisa Roytek, Stacy Harper, Tim Eltschlager, Heidi Czekaj. You are asked to stay the entire time if possible.

TAILGATE PARTY at BEDFORD HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY GAME, FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 2nd

We hope everyone plans on attending tomorrow night! Cheerleaders should wear their full uniform, Football players should wear their black jerseys and shorts. Everyone is to bring their own drinks and parents may want to bring some chairs to relax in. After the kids form the tunnel for the varsity players, you are responsible for watching your own kids. It is up to you if you want to stay for the game. Players/cheerleaders get in free, but parents and siblings have to pay.

All mod players/cheerleaders and their families are invited to attend the tailgate party at Parmalee Park prior to each Lions Home Game. There are only 4 home games and the kids really enjoy this activity. Parents are asked to bring a food item/dish to share. Examples: breakfast casseroles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, donuts, muffins, juice and milk. Times vary depending on the time of the game that week. The first tailgate will be September 11th.

Mandatory Weigh In for all players is Saturday, September 10th at 10:15am (Wear Your Black Game Jersey). We should be done by 11:30am. ALL PLAYERS MUST ATTEND OR THEY WILL NOT PLAY! If you are unable to make it on September 10th please see Coach KK right away!

CHEER PRACTICE

Beginning next week (Sept. 4th) Cheerleaders will practice on Thursdays only. Mods & Seniors: 5:30 – 6:30 and Juniors: 6:00 – 7:30.

Tag Day is this Saturday!! Everyone is expected to participate. Times and locations are posted at www.bedfordlions.com

Containers will be provided at the stores, but kids need to come up with their own collection containers for the neighborhoods. Use coffee cans, Tupperware containers, anything you can decorate with construction paper, labels, etc. Have fun with this!!
